Day Two - 8:30 am Class Opens
Join us early for networking opportunities and Coffee & Pastries

9:00 am - Start Day Two

Here's Where the Rubber Meets the Road!
Starting on Day Two we examine in detail the various OSHA subparts and identify the areas that you need to understand and comply with. This portion of the training includes lots of visual aids so the regulations actually make sense.

Hazard Communication, Subpart Z
Guess where OSHA gives out the most fines? Subpart Z deals with labeling, MSDS and training of employees and we'll discuss it in detail so you can go back to your worksite and make sure you're compliant.

Electrical, Subpart S
Typically among the top 5 most common OSHA violations, electrical hazards pose a real danger to your employees and we'll determine exactly what OSHA requires and how to easily spot problems in your workplace so they can quickly be corrected. Recent changes in 2008 make this module critical- so pay extra attention!

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Subpart I
Gloves, respirators, safety glasses, protective foot wear and other PPE equipment will be discussed in great detail. You'll put a PPE matrix together and learn exactly what PPE must be issued (and who pays for it) in your work environment.

11:30 am - Lunch Break
Lunch is on your own, be back at 12:30 pm. . .

Walking and Working Surfaces, Subpart D
Ladders and scaffolds as well as floor openings are discussed in this module. The regulations are notoriously difficult to understand but we'll make Subpart D easy to understand and comply with.

Exit Routes, Emergency Plans, Fire Prevention and Protection, Subparts E & L
After 9-11 OSHA really began to enforce Subparts E & L. We'll provide you with simple templates so you can develop your emergency plan and ensure that fire equipment and exits are properly maintained.

Hazardous Materials (Flammable & Combustible Liquids, Comp. Gas), Subpart H
Are you storing chemicals properly? When are you required to use a fire cabinet? What kind of separation must you have between combustibles, flammables and oxidizers? Subpart H addresses these complicated issues but this module answers your questions and makes compliance easy!

Materials Handling, Subpart N
Do you have powered industrial trucks (forklifts) at your place of business? Are you compliant with the OSHA regulations? Subpart N discusses the daily inspections, employee training (every three years) and a number of other requirements in place to protect employees.

Machine Guarding, Subpart O
Recently OSHA identified machine guarding as a National Emphasis Program based on the frequent and often gruesome injuries that often result when using tools and machinery. Difficult to understand at first glance and frequently violated, you'll find the machine guarding subpart actually easy to understand once we walk you through the requirements of Subpart O.
